Any Questions??

This blog "segment" lol, is in response to an anonymous suggestion that we answer questions anyone has on clothes and shopping, decorating...life, love, beauty secrets...LIFE IN GENERAL... I think it would be quite a fun exercise!
I am no guru or stylist to the stars (This is a disclaimer!!..I know someone is like "WHAT DOES SHE EVEN KNOW SEF" lol)... but it never hurts to hear another person's opinion....If anyone wants to ask about ANYTHING, we would be very happy to assist you in any way we can!

AND can we suggest that instead of posting as anonymous, post as an actual name or phrase or anything so we can properly reply to you without going anonymous 1 or anonymous 2 lol...because that would be tedious and confusing for the both of us lol...

Thanks again for the comments!! and the Bad girls club is on Oxygen network, it shows on tuesdays at 10pm!!

@ Bebewa darling, thanks for your comment! Our clothes will hit the market, hopefully end of this year or early next year. We currently do the work ourselves for the promotional aspect BUT to go commercial, we are in works to get efficient help in terms of tailors who can better produce finished work .. we have to have sizing, distribution, fit and durability lol all figured out!We feel that its better to get everything organized and in place before we jump into the markets, there is nothing worse than selling a product that cannot stand the test of time. And when I sew i freestyle ( i dont even own a body) i fit the clothes on myself, which is why they have a GREAT fit, Ozzy on the other hand is in parsons and so she is getting a great education in pattern making and draping (which she has to teach me soon lol)..She says that using patterns makes it soo much easier and more finished, so i encourage you to get a pattern for the next garment you decide to sew!Hope i helped!!Kisses!

okay i am supposed to be pulling an all nighter but hey, i luv this blog. couple of questions

1. i live in MD..and would luv to know who does your hair and what kind of hair is that (here's hoping im not sounding to forward..cos some chicks r sensitive 'bout that).

2. i am a serious bargain shopper, and i just admire your dress sense, now how and where do i get your style (or similar to yours) for a reasonable price, as i assume you guys shop expensive.

3. last one even though i have a txtbook worth of fashion questions but (now i'm going to come off as crazy..thank goodness im anonymous) what are your fashion suggestions for this spring/summer...im just tryna look good yo!

thanx so much for answering this questions i just am a crazy fan :D

1. Lol, We all actually do our hair ourselves! Its really pricey to do hair ya know. Your hair makes your look, no lie, if your hair is jacked up, there really is nothing you can do...sorry...NOTHING, take remy ma and trina(wack)...or Rihanna's career based on her blunt bob...i just figured that since my hair always HAS to be on point i might as well learn how to hook it up myself! ...Extensions itself are pricey enough!(notice how i call them extensions, i hate that W_ _ _ e word lol)...without shelling out like 250 dollars more for a salon job. With necessity you LEARN!
I use Outre New premium Yaki, 18 inches, 3 packs for the fullness(and you need 3 packs..2 is scanty!)..the hair is like 40 something and upwards dollars for a pack..pretty steep but worth it!...if you cant do hair yourself! PLEASE GO TO A SALON! dont waste great extensions on a BAD W_ _ _ e job! Get your hair done WELL!

2. I am sort of in the middle in terms of shopping..I can go expensive and Bargain shop as well..You can get really nice clothes at probably the stores you shop at anyway. There is no "one" place to get nice clothes, You've gotta shop around!!
Forever 21 has nice clothes but its imperative that you try them on before you buy em! The fit is very important, you have to know your body type and what fits you and you have depend on the slogan, "simplicity is key"...which is why i HATE lvlx,(i play drill games sometimes in stores i hate to find out if i could wear anything from that store...and till today i still havent found one thing i liked in there) stretchy bright material, sequins, ugly satin and silver beading is just UGLY ( i apologise if anyone likes that store, it just upsets me that a top could cost like 32 dollars there and be so ugly)
If you want to go for the elegant cream camisole and cream pants look, go Zara ...really nice clothes - dresses, pants, jackets.. it looks expensive but its really affordable! You have to peruse sales racks in the pricey stores like Bebe, benetton and co, you can never know what you could find for a nice price!
TIP* Get yourself a nice jacket at zara', there is nothing like a nice jacket to add some spice to your wardrobe..
Urban outfitters is kinda intimidating because it looks so grunnge but go in there, if you want to go for the alternative punk look, there are a lot of cool discount clothes, shoes and purses....
H& friggging M, good fit, great clothes at a bargain price...i buy my regular skinnies from there when im too cheap to shell out &&&, very casual look, and very fashionable, it provides you a template for major cooldome, buy white stretcy teeshirts and rock them with a Scarf around your neck, a waist coat and skinny jeans, nice pumps, and a big tote and you have a cool, hip look instantly!
Macy's - for shoes, they have a variety of really cute and interesting shoes for okay prices - you should know that when you have really interesting shoes, the rest of your outfit should be reallly simple, unless you are wearing an owambe outfit...if you are wearing an all white ensemble, you can pair it up with some off colored shoes and that would be really interesting...
Look for Nice jeans, stretch plain tee shirts, Dress shirts, scarfes, chunky jewellry, elegant mini dresses, interesting shoes, Big totes,
Tip- stay away from overdone trends like leggings under ANYTHING, the shorts and a club top look, the bustier look (can still work, but i am so tired of seeing it), gold peep toes ( i am not mad at that but we can also do other colors ya know!)
American Apparel - love their bandeau dresses, it looks really yoga-ish but half of my closet is filled with their clothes, definitely check out their website..
Actually i am going to dedicate a post to bagging clothes at bargain prices, because i can go on forever and ever lol

3. Fashion suggestions for Spring/summer - white and yellow cotton dresses, think freedom, shorts and interesting flats, sandals , jewel toned dresses and great hair lol!
Get clothes in deep emerald, blue, very exciting colors!
I typed this really fast and if i shelled i apologise lol!!
Hope i helped!
Kisses!

pantyhose with open toe shoes, NO-NO or yes-yes?????

awwww, how noble of you to share, cranberry! thanks :)

1. what is your beauty regimen and which products do you use to wash, moisturize, etc.?

2. who taught you to do your hair?? is there some sort of step-by-step procedure for hooking your own weave up? LOL. OMG, you're sooooo my heroes. sigh.

i'll be back if i remember anything else. thanks so much!

@ Bhookey, happy new year sweetie!
Hmm after a lot of deliberation, i have no exact answer, It depends on the exaggeration of the peep hole, the color of the shoe and how opaque the tights are...
Personally i think opaque tights look better than sheer tights when paired with peep toes... and also, when shoes have a little peep hole at the tip, it also looks better than a large expanse of stocking covered toes peeking out from your shoes lol..that can perhaps be ignored if the pumps are black but stocking covered feet peeking out of brightly colored shoes might just look ...wrong...in general, its hard to determine..it might work and on the other hand it might not..its not a fashion don't in anyway if you wear it....To be safe, just wear pumps! That ALWAYS works!!...especially rounded pumps with platform heels!
Hope i helped!
Kisses*

@ belle, aww so sweet! For the first part of your question, refer to ozzy's beauty blog > http://cranberryglitz.blogspot.com/2008/01/beauty-blog.html

And as to how to fix hair, there is no actual step by step process i could give you, my sister actually helps me fix my hair and i fix hers, To learn...it is really just a matter of watching someone do it and then practicing on someone else, its really quite easy, if you can cornrow and sew, there is nothing much left to it!
i personally leave alot of my hair out in front and at the sides and add extensions at the back, that way it looks less "weavalicious" lol...like i said before its all about getting good HURR lol, adding volume with 3 packs, maintaining the hair by flat ironing and curling it and having enough of your real hair out to make it look less FAKE and more natural..Tracks showing is just UGLY...another thing I do (when i am feeling less lazy) is add tracks in the back and then do micro braids in front, i.e, braid like an inch and leave it so it really gives the all round fullness you desire...and please touch up your edges!! there is nothing uglier than a silky mane protuding from a fro!!...if all else fails, go to a salon!!!..oh and make sure you TREAT your natural hair like its your first born child, PAMPER IT! get a relaxer every 6 weeks and a wash and set every two weeks AT A SALON, Specifically in a Dominican salon, they use very little oil and blow your hair out muy perfecto! bouncy and fabulous! yum!...Too much oil in your hair makes it greasy and disgusting!
Extensions should only be a CHOICE and not a NECESSITY...people should not be frightened when you take off your weave lol..Love your real hair! I know i love mine!
I hope i helped!
Kisses!!

@ Anonymous!!!!
The "how tall are you question" is quite amazing really, I am 5'5, ozzy is 5'6 and joan is 5'8...

We grew up in Lagos and came up here for college. We are pretty much as Nigerian as it gets!

And we dont sew Trad..But you should check out Haute Magazine -you can suscribe at FashionNigeria.com for young designers that use traditional fabrics to make really hip and trendy garments!

There are sales at urban outfitters, arden B, Bebe, H& M, pretty much at every store and online as well...its dependent on what Item you are searching for...Are you looking for good sales on dresses or purses??...I could help you better that way!

Kisses!

a) I am sooo tired of wearing jeans, so I'm trying to get into the dress phase. Now I noticed that you said No leggings under anything. So how can a sister keep her legs cold in this ridiculous weather?

b) Speaking of Jeans, I need a really hot pair and I'm tired of Express. Where else can I find a nice pair of a chick like me at a good price?

c) You really need to start up a new post about bargain hunting. I'm curious.

d) Will Cranberry ever make clothes that aren't tailored for the tall, slim type. I don't normally wear short dresses and all but I love your stuff.

I'll think of more questions.

I'm definitely looking for good sales on dresses and purses. Redirect me please. lol

I LOVE YOU GUYS! I LOVE THIS BLOG! I feel like such a stalker. lol. I literally check everyday to see if you've updated. Please start updating more often!

How did you all meet in Nigeria? Did you'll go to the same school, childhood friends?

4ACES said...

@ mimi...ure welcome!!

@ June...when we say leggings..we mean footless tights..the looks is so dead and played out...but please feel free to wear FULL opaque tights under ur dresses, I know 'yanga get pain' but thou shalt not freeze in the name of fashion!!!!!! lol
re: jeans: HnM have really good jeans in my opinion, at nice prices! and over the summer i got a great pair of jeans from the most unexpected place in the world: Forever 21!! So take the time out to look when youre in a store, because Lawd knows i have condemned forever 21 to hell and back, so i was forced to eat humble pie when i saw a pair of jeans i actually liked! maybe this shud go in the future 'bargan hunting' post!
Andddd cranberry is NOT just for 'skinny' girls, like any other designer sample pieces are made for models (and in this case, to fit us being as we're the only forms we have to work with), but when time comes for production, it will be in various sizes!

@ electra: I'll be back to you on the sales tip...

and PHEW finally @ anonymous..Thanks soo much!! we all get so busy during the semester, but we will definitely try to update more often!! Anddd yes we all met in Nigeria, and I went to school with Doreen first, and then transferred schools, and was in the same class with Joan...so we've known each other going on 9/10 years now!
